My Story
Hi, I'm Micah Jo! I have a passion for all things women's health and fitness. My love for caring for the body began at the age of six when I started playing soccer — and I loved everything about it! Youth soccer led to high school games, which unfortunately also led to occasional injury. At one point, my knee began having issues and I needed physical therapy. It was during those grueling sessions that I discovered my passion for healing the body through movement.
I later went to college and earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, where I found my true calling in a sweaty gym: personal training. I discovered a special passion for working with women who had never been in the gym before. I loved guiding them through workouts, teaching proper form, and most importantly watching them start off feeling nervous and transform into women that could lift heavier than they ever imagined possible.
After graduation, life got crazy — as it tends to do. I had a sweet baby boy via emergency C-section, and just a few weeks later I was diagnosed with PCOS, insulin resistance, borderline pre-diabetes, and then a few months later, endometriosis and painful bladder syndrome. I went from feeling on top of the world to feeling like everything had been flipped upside down. I felt numb, alone, and foreign in my own body. I couldn't understand how so much had changed in less than a year, and honestly, I felt defeated and stuck.
After "trying all the things," I sat on the couch one day and decided I was going to throw in the towel. My weight was still climbing, and the migraines, exhaustion, and lack of energy showed no signs of improving. I was ready to accept this as my new normal — but a small voice in my gut whispered, "Keep going."
Fast forward through an incredible 8-week program, wonderful coaches, and so many new friends on similar journeys, and I successfully navigated a 25lbs weight loss journey. But this transformation was about so much more than a number on the scale. It included dropping four pant sizes, building muscle, learning how to properly fuel my body, repairing my relationship with food, significantly reducing my symptoms, and gaining a massive confidence boost that helped me feel like myself again for the first time in years.
Upon completing the program, I discovered that they also certified coaches to support clients the same way they had supported me. Seeing the incredible growth and strength this program brought to my own journey, I knew I needed to get certified so I could help other women find what I had found. I am now certified through the Biceps After Babies Transformational Macro Counting Certification.
That brings me to today. I am on a mission to bridge the gap between a woman leaving a doctor's office feeling defeated or unsure of what to do next and truly seeing the results she wants and needs for her health. Taking control of your health should never be something you have to do alone. I am here to link arms with you and guide you through it all.
All women deserve to feel happy, strong, and confident in their bodies — and I can't wait to help you find that for yourself.
